Wolf Full Moon January 13, 2025

It’s the first Full Moon of 2025! The Wolf Moon gets its name from the high probability of hearing wolves howling around this time. Howling helps wolves locate their packs, coordinate a hunt, reinforce social bonding and helps define territories. 

This Moon is in Cancer and the Sun is in Capricorn. Cancer rules the 4th House that focuses on home and family. Cancer can bring lots of inner emotions to the surface including heightened levels of insecurities. During Full Moons we always have the duality of the positions of the Moon and the Sun. During this Full Moon the Sun will be in Capricorn which represents your working life of structure and discipline. So we have a polarity of our emotional needs vs our practical needs. Try to find a good balance between home life and work life. 

Full Moons illuminate things that may or may not be working for us. I think of this time as a release or the letting go phase during our lunar journey. As a Full Moon is capable of raising the tides it can also raise our emotions and intuitive abilities. This makes it the perfect time to celebrate with a Full Moon Ritual. As the surface of the moon wanes, so can our energy around anything you wish to release. Create some time to get grounded and reflect on anything that no longer serves you. This can be people, places, things, limiting beliefs, habits, etc.
